Hello and welcome to Joe's fundraiser site. This site is new, so you will continue to see changes to the content in the coming weeks.
The money from this site goes directly into a savings account. Nobody benefits from the money saved up, except the lawyers that will help to bring Joe's new appeal together. The amount needed is approx $5,000 to start. That is just for them to do an initial evaluation on his case. This includes but not limited to: Time and labor, research, and combing thru his case and former appeal with a fine tooth comb. I am going to keep all receipts, and transactions so that everyone can see where it is going. On Joes last appeal it was through a court appointed lawyer, there were alot of good points brought up, but nothing was ever followed through uppon. ANY amount will help. Back one June 3, 1996 Joe was with a group of friends that commited a crime. He intentionally went with them. But he wasn't planning on killing anyone. Well the murder and attempted murder happened. I do NOT support murder or murderers. Joe was convicted for being an accessary to the crimes. Which is all stated in his legal work if someone wants to see them. One of the surviving victims (who was later murdered years later in a completely different case) stated on the stand that he had been on drugs and drinking. That, he saw Joe, but that Joe wasn't the one that shot him. There were alot of things Joe's court appointed lawyer could have done and didn't.
Joe needed this time in prison to grow up, learn something, and move on with his life. And he has. He has done that in a positive way. Joe has started taking classes and is wanting to get his Business Management Masters Degree so he can eventually start his own business. Joe isn't one to blow smoke and say things he won't ever do. HE DOES them. Joe was recently moved to Huntsville to attend classes and start a new job.
